"We visited Luohu commercial city in Shenzhen and Kim was fantastic, she did all the hard bargaining for us and took us to the best shops. We got everything we wanted, prices half that of Hong Kong and far better quality .
The price of the tour more than makes up for itself in the savings that you make with Kim. We went to a very good quality tailor, the variety of material is mind boggling and so so much cheaper than in Hong Kong and they will
either post it to your hotel or home."
Shenzhen used to be a small town and has developed over recent years into a thriving city with a huge commercial centre of its own. It is popular for business and tourists alike, but is especially known as the Mecca for shoppers who like to purchase handbags, wallets and watches.
8.5 HOUR SHENZHEN SHOPPING TOUR
Shenzhen is a fantastic place to shop - who wouldn’t love the myriad of shops selling everything from handbags - of every size and description – to watches and all types of jewelry and pearls. Ready to wear clothing and shoes are available in abundance, and personal tailoring available for anyone wishing to have a favourite item copied, or a made to measure suit which can be posted back to Hong Kong, or to your home country if you’re limited to a short visit.
A walk through the fabric hall is as overwhelming as it is delightful with the many varied fabrics available from the lightest Thai silks to best quality wool and cashmere. If an hour or more can be spared for a little (more) indulgence there are beauty shops galore offering mani/ pedi’s, massages, even a quick wash & blow-dry so you can go home feeling totally refreshed.
A typical day trip to China
The journey to China commences at Hung Hom station in Kowloon. We usually meet our groups of 1-4 people at 9.30am at Starbucks on the Mezzanine floor of the station. There we can meet over a coffee and discuss what items you are interested in buying, if we have not already done this over email in advance.
A pick-up from your hotel at 9.30am can be arranged if preferred, but as this would take longer it means less shopping time in Shenzhen.
We take the MTR from Hung Hom to the border station of Lo Wu, which takes approximately 45 minutes. A visa is required for entry to China, which if not already held can be purchased at the border for citizens of many countries.
Leaving Hong Kong and entering China can take anything from 15/20minutes to up to an hour at busy times or during busy holiday periods.
During the day your guide will be at your disposal to guide you to the best shops where you will be able to view and buy the best value goods at a fair price. A point to remember - if you are buying good quality goods they may still cost more than a similar basic item without the label, but these items will cost a fraction of the price you’d pay elsewhere.
There are several good restaurants to stop for lunch or even just for a tea, coffee or soft drink. It is usual to book a table when we first arrive if you wish to eat at one of the Chinese restaurants as they get very booked-up at lunch times.
The trip ends when we return to Hung Hom MTR station and your guide will take you to the correct taxi rank for your hotel location. (There are different queues for taxis to addresses on Kowloon or those crossing to Hong Kong island.)
OPTIONAL EXTRAS: Dafen art village is also located in Shenzhen and is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the LoWu Station. A trip to the village can be incorporated into your shopping trip if requested.
On request we can also incorporate a trip to HuaQuiangBei area which is famous for its electronic goods.
If 8.5 hours is not enough longer shopping trips can also be arranged. Please contact us with your requirements for a quote.
"Hello Kim, Thank you so much for today, it was amazing & we are still buzzing from our fantastic buys and this would not have been possible without you. Philip is convinced his watch is the real deal as he has researched intensely on their website & Google and that watch appears exactly the same, he is over the moon. Plus my bags I'm lost for words to express my gratitude, we just want to say a big thank you again & here is the photo of my rings, they just sparkle like real diamonds. Thank you & on my return home i will write on trip advisor"

"I had one day at the end of a work trip and I booked a shopping trip to Shenzhen to buy presents for friends and family. From the first email, I was pleased with how much information and advice that was sent through to me – from specific instructions on where I would meet Kim (my guide for the day) to a reminder to bring tissues and hand gel for a stress-free visit to the washroom!
The shopping mall itself was pretty big and I was pleased to have Kim to show me all of the best places to buy jewellery and bags. Kim was much better at negotiating a good price than I was – without her, I would have bought a lot less (too much choice and quite overwhelming) at a much higher price and a great deal more stress for items of a lesser quality!
The cost of the shopping trip was definitely worth it, I didn’t have to stress about visas, how to get there, dealing with the many people all trying to get you to come in to their shops for the ‘best price’. And, best of all, at the end of the day when my feet were aching from all of the walking around, Kim knew a great place for a foot massage. I honestly don’t think I could have asked for more!
Kim – thank you so much for a great day. I had so much fun and I can’t wait for my next trip to Hong Kong – I’m definitely going to try out the tailors that you recommended!"
If you are from the USA you need to arrange a China visa before you leave the US. You can arrange one in Hong Kong but you will need 3 days and it will be VERY expensive.
A visa can be purchased at the Lo Wu border into Shenzhen by people from the below countries.
